some feedback i received and notes i made for myself after the end-of-the-semester showings:

* watch out for an over-aesthetization of riots
* focus on trying - and failing - to convey the riots and riots experience
* see if you can focus on berlin
* watch out for a moralistic perspective or blame
* legitimizing violence - it can be ok but it needs to be explained
* there is a need to contextualize things for the audience - particularly the context of riots
* suggestion - focus on 'race riots' rather than the general concept of 'riots', which is much larger and more open to interpretation and experience
* attacking the actual space without offering a solution or showing love can be ineffective
* don't be afraid to experiment with mash-ups of different elements
* re-examine what i've already done and what can i use out of it.
